From Anheuser-Busch:

Anheuser-Busch brewery tours have been one of the most popular attractions in St. Louis since tours began in 1887. Recognizing its place in St. Louis’s culture and history, stl250 has deemed the St. Louis Tour Center a “Landmark Location” within the region. On Friday, April 4, Anheuser-Busch proudly unveiled its Cakeway to the West cake decorated with elements of Anheuser-Busch’s rich heritage, including the Budweiser Clydesdales.

The cake was painted by local artists and mother-son team Julie Krovicka and Ian Greenlee. A replica cake, baked and decorated by The Sweet Divine in Soulard, was unveiled alongside the four-foot cake and served for guests to enjoy alongside a Budweiser toast for those 21+.

After the cake was unveiled, Anheuser-Busch presented a $100,000 donation to stl250 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the City of St. Louis. Anheuser-Busch is also contributing an equal amount in in-kind donations to stl250 throughout 2014.

Cakeway to the West is one part public art exhibit, one part scavenger hunt and one part history lesson – all adding up to a year’s worth of fun exploring St. Louis. Standing four-feet-tall, each two-tier ornamental birthday cake has been decorated by local artists and will mark a location of note in our region.

Anheuser-Busch is proud to host one stl250 cake at the Tour Center and a second stl250 cake at Grant’s Farm, to be unveiled at Grant’s Farm opening day on April 12.
