Short’s Hopstache - A Delicious Lip Ornament

From Short’s:

Although our company’s infatuation with mustaches existed well before this beer, the label art does have a relevant story and marks a turning point for one man’s mustached future. Back in the spring of 2010, Woj (Head Beer Liberator) was getting ready to celebrate a personal milestone by turning 30. In the spirit of self indulgence, it was decided that a party would be thrown and themed appropriately as a “Dirty 30 Mustache Party and Pig Roast”. Joe, always one to get into the spirit of things, took on this regal requirement and decided to grow his first official mustache. Joe toughed it out until the day of the party where he displayed a mustache that would have made anyone one proud. Who would have guessed that this simple birthday gesture may have triggered the awesomeness of facial hair display that we all see on him today?

hopstache

Hopstache (5.5% ABV, 85IBU) typifies the boldness that comes from American hop varieties. The aroma is dominated by fruity ale yeast esters and fragrant grapefruit tones. Initial malt sweetness is low, and citrus fruit and floral hop qualities overpower any other perceived flavors. Aided by the addition of grapefruit zest, the finish is a sharp hop shock that electrifies the mouth, but is not overly bitter.

Hopstache was released into the world today (3/25)! This specialty brew, like all specialty brews, is released in limited quantities so be sure to grab a taste and raise your glass for the coming of spring.
