Locally owned Compass Cider House announced today that it has completed the merger with Cedaredge, CO based cidery Blossomwood Cidery, LLC. This exciting merger combines the oldest Cidery in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains with one of the newest Cideries-- Compass Cider House. In addition to the merger, the two companies are announcing the Grand Opening of their Cider Lounge—a modern tasting room, restaurant and Cider production facility located in historic Old Town Ft. Collins at 216 N. College Avenue. Grand Opening festivities will begin on Friday, March 21st with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:00 pm, ending on Sunday, March 23rd at 6:00 pm. Eight premium and super premium Hard Ciders and Perry will be released. Special Cider and Perry tasting trays and paired small plate menu items will be offered throughout the celebration.

Shawn Carney, the founder of Blossomwood Cidery, and Bob Blythe, the founder of Compass Cider House expect this merger to bring a greater variety of both premium and super premium Ciders and Perry to the community. Shawn Carney, Co-Founder of the merged Company said “The merger with Compass Cider House enables our critically acclaimed super premium products, such as Cider and Perry made from rare and heirloom Cider Apples and Perry Pears grown on the 15 acre Blossomwood Orchard in Cedaredge, CO, and made at Blossomwood since 2006, to be shared with a much larger audience. With well over 100 varieties of exclusive fruit available to us, we believe we can bring true English and French style products to a market that appreciates the highest quality products available.”

Bob Blythe, Co-Founder of the merged Company adds “Compass Ciders are craft premium products that truly exemplify the creativity and innovation happening in the American Cider movement. Working with Blossomwood will ensure that our customers who are looking for the highest quality locally made Ciders and Perry will have the widest selection of premium beverages readily available.”

Cider and Perry will continue to be made at both the Blossomwood Cidery in Cedaredge, CO and the newly constructed Compass Cider House in Ft. Collins, CO.

The Compass Cider Lounge, the flagship tasting room for Blossomwood and Compass Ciders offers a paired small plate menu prepared by Executive Chef David Daggett to enhance the tasting experience. Blythe said “Having exceptional quality menu items prepared from a global assortment of cuisine styles provides the perfect backdrop for adventuresome drinkers who are looking to try new things and explore the burgeoning world of Cider and Perry. We offer approximately 12 to 14 locally sourced menu items that enhance the tasting experience and they are available for both lunch and dinner at the Cider Lounge in Ft. Collins.”
