From Sierra Nevada:
Chico, CA—February 12, 2014/mbb/—For the first time, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is aggregating its whole-cone hop prowess into one box, the 4-Way IPA variety 12-pack. Shipping to distributors beginning next week, the 4-Way IPA variety pack features two brand new India Pale Ales, as well as a year-round powerhouse and an updated rendition of a Beer Camp creation. While different in color and character, the 4-Way IPAs unite through intense hop aromas and flavors that underscore Sierra Nevada’s passionate and progressive take on whole-cone hops.
Available through July 2014, the 4-Way IPA variety pack includes:
- Snow Wit White IPA is brewed with seven varieties of experimental dwarf hops that give it a complex grapefruit and herbal hop character accentuated by spicy notes from an authentic Belgian yeast.
- Nooner Session IPA is light in body but big in hop aroma and flavor. This session IPA delivers a dose of citrusy and grapefruit hop character from the use of whole-cone American hops.
- Blindfold Black IPA is an evolution of a Beer Camp recipe and features a blend of hop varieties whose bright, fruity aroma complements the coffee-like flavors of dark roasted malts.
- Torpedo® Extra IPA is Sierra Nevada’s year-round IPA and uses the brewery’s unique “Hop Torpedo” method of dry hopping to showcase complex citrus, pine and herbal flavor and aromas.
“Like a mix of tap handles at your corner pub, opening a pack filled with choices is an exciting experience,” said Ken Grossman, Sierra Nevada’s founder. “The spirit of craft beer, for both brewers and drinkers, is experimentation. We concoct hop-forward beers often—to put it mildly—and the 4-Way IPAs are a snapshot of a style we do well.”
As distributors send 4-Way to retailers, craft drinkers can track down the variety pack using Sierra Nevada’s Beer Locator. And although the recipes are still being refined, Sierra Nevada is developing variety 12-packs for both the fall and holiday seasons.
