From our pal Damien Malfara @ Old Forge Brewing:
It's almost time to get your chocolate fix! Mark your calendars for our annual Chocolatefest coming up Feb. 11th thru the 16th! Our popular Double Chocolate Stout will be returning, along with the spicy Chocolate Chili Stout (Double Chocolate Stout with chili peppers added) and a new Chocolate Cherry Stout (Double Chocolate Stout with cherries and vanilla added)! Pair one of those with the amazing chocolatized menu our chefs create, along with our chocolate fountain, and you're sure to satisfy those chocolate cravings!
The brewers are working hard to play catch up and stay caught up at the brewpub with the beers, by the time this newsletter reaches you we should have 15 beers on tap! So close to our ability to have 16! It's amazing being able to come in and have such a wide range and selection of beers that are all brewed right here in Danville. We just tapped up our Sumatra Stout - which is brewed with 8 different malts and enhanced by the addition of Danville's Bason Sumatra Mandheling dark roasted coffee. There are going to be some great new beers coming out of the brewpub this year as the brewers acquired more bourbon barrels and wine barrels for 2014!
The brewery has been barreling along as well- with production maxed out we had a great end to 2013 with our seasonal variety packs in the Fall and Winter. In the Fall we had a variety pack of Overbite IPA, T-Rail Pale Ale, Old Forge Pumpkin, and Falling Down Brown Ale. Then in the winter months we have our Overbite IPA, T-Rail Pale Ale, Plowshare Porter, and Resolution Rye Stout! A great variety pack to keep you warm and happy through these cold winter months! We will also have a Spring Variety pack coming out in mid-March with Hopsmith Pale Lager making its debut in a 16 oz can, and Celestial Blonde returning as a Spring seasonal beer!
With 2013 behind us and 2014 ahead we are excited and looking forward to another year of drinking great beer and enjoying company with our brewpub and brewery family and friends!
