From Haw River:

SAXAPAHAW, NC—November 26, 2013: Haw River Farmhouse Ales launched our own Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to help make Haw River Farmhouse Ales a more responsible, more sustainable brewery. Set to open in early 2014, the small artisan brewery will produce Belgian & French-style rustic ales in small batches using locally-grown ingredients and native & wild yeasts.

The goal of the fundraising campaign is to source a few pieces of equipment and set up programs that will help the brewery be more environmentally responsible from the very beginning: a solar pre-heater for their brewing water, a grain mill run from the power generated by a bicycle, high efficiency hand dryers instead of paper towels in our bathrooms, a conversion kit that allows their delivery truck to run on used vegetable oil, a small scale CO2 collector to reuse waste gases, and the establishment of The Farmhand Exchange, a transparent local ingredient chain to truly support their community and the people who work and live around the brewery.

Says cofounder Dawnya Bohager, “We’ve come up with some truly unique and fantastic rewards for becoming involved [with the campaign]. We’ve got a whole lineup of custom designed merchandise and experiences we’re offering, as well as bonus reward levels fans can add to their donations or select throughout to create a truly unique reward for helping get us on the right track. With everyone’s help, we can make Haw River Farmhouse Ales an even better brewery than before!”
