WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Sept. 6, 2013 /mbb/ -- After a successful run in Miami during Art Basel 2012, the HeinekenMural Project will launch in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta this fall. Partnering with the G40 Art Summit in D.C. and the A3C Hip-Hop Festival and Flux Night in Atlanta,the Heineken Mural Project will interpret Heineken's "Open Your World" message through murals in both cities, and include some of the most talented veterans in street art.
The ten participating street artists include:Ever hailing from Argentina,Swedish-born Rubin based in Brooklyn, NYC, Brendan Tierney of Virginia and D.C.-based Aniekanfor DC and in Atlanta the team will include San Francisco's Chor Boogie,Clogtwo from Singapore and Mark 27from Brooklyn.
"Heineken is excited to partner with today's leaders in street art," says Pattie Falch, Brand Director, Heineken Sponsorships. "This is a wonderful opportunity to beautify the Washington, D.C. and Atlanta communities through art, and enhance the experience at the mural sites with music and more."
The Heineken Mural Projectwill take place in September and Octoberwith Heineken pop-up parties and concerts at the mural sites. The events will be announced on Twitter and Instagram via the#heinekenmurals hashtag. Art lovers are encouraged to visit the murals during this creative process, share photos on Instagram (using #HeinekenMurals) and tour the murals, which integrates quick response (QR) code technology. Each mural will have a QR code which can be scanned from the pedestrian's smart phone leading them to The Heineken Mural Project website with information on the murals, artists, photos, videos and events.
