Boom! The cat is out of the bag (or barrel). Here’s a really exciting release coming form the Stone Brewing 2013 Quingenti Millilitre series of beers. This is batch No 7 in the series and it i s 2012 Doubled Bastard Southern Charred aka 2012 Double Bastard aged in bourbon barrels. The beer was brewed Aug 2nd and Nov 2nd 2012 and then the unfiltered version was aged 10-months with 51% in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels and 8% in Virgin Bourbon Barrels….then 13 months in 41% second use Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. Some of the Kentucky Bourbon Barrels once held Stone Suitable for Cave Aging Imperial Smoked Porter (brewed as a tribute to Danny Williams) as well so this is a complex blend. As always look for the beer to be bottled in 500ml bottles and it will come in at 95 IBU and 11.8% ABV. According to the label this beer will be bottled in Sept 2013 so stay tuned.
