LEUVEN, Belgium---Budweiser today releases “Half of Me”, a new short-form digital documentary with Rihanna on BudweiserMusic.com. The documentary is the next installment of the brand’s global “Made for Music” initiative, which celebrates the artists, makers and creators that leave an indelible mark on pop culture and the spirit that drives them to greatness, bringing the inspirational power of music to millions of fans around the world. Drawing on this theme, “Half of Me” portrays the unique role and compelling influence Rihanna has on her fans and how her music truly brings them together as a community.
“One of my favorite parts of traveling is being able to communicate with my amazing fans directly. I am totally connected with my navy; it doesn't matter where in the world they are.”
“Half of Me” is a documentary that takes the viewer behind the scenes with Rihanna as she travels the globe on her Diamonds World Tour. Unlike most documentaries which only focus on the star, “Half of Me” reveals the full picture as the story unfolds from two perspectives: those of both the fan and the performer. Viewers experience each show from the artist’s perspective and from the fan’s perspective. Rihanna’s real life experiences interlaced with her fans’ testimonials and interpretations of her as a person shed new light on her truly unique connection with her fans, the incredible inspiration she gives them and the universal characteristics she shares with each and every member of the dedicated and unified navy that supports her.
“The Budweiser Half of Me documentary is a true picture of behind the scenes of my Diamonds World Tour. It not only tells the story from my eyes but also in the eyes of my fans,” says Rihanna. “One of my favorite parts of traveling is being able to communicate with my amazing fans directly. I am totally connected with my navy; it doesn't matter where in the world they are.”
“The ‘Made for Music’ program is all about connecting fans to the artists that inspire them and to promote music as a universal language, and we feel that Rihanna’s ‘Half of Me’ documentary does just that,” says Camilo Durana, Global Director, Budweiser Sports and Entertainment. “’Half of Me’ tells a special narrative by juxtaposing Rihanna’s more intimate moments with the personal stories from some of her biggest fans around the world.”
Fans around the world are able to watch “Half of Me” in its entirety on BudweiserMusic.com.
