Brandon Evans Replaces ALL Water In His Diet With BrewDog For 1 Month

From BrewDog:

Craft beer. Water, malt, hops and yeast. Nothing more, nothing less. So with such high water content, what’s to say a man could not survive by replacing the water in his diet with beer? That is the exact question Brandon Evans, a craft beer fan from France, is going to answer.

Over the next month (starting from 1st September) Brandon is replacing all the water in his diet (and we mean ALL the water…!) with BrewDog beer. Naturally, it might be a bit much to be opting for a Tactical Nuclear Penguin or a Sink the Bismarck for such a project, but lucky for him, we’ve just shipped out the latest batch of our 0.5% imperial mild, Nanny State. Every glass of water Brandon consumes, every pan of rice he boils, every time he brushes his teeth, Brandon will be using Nanny State instead of water.  This is a man on a mission.

“A couple of years ago I had the chance to try Nanny State. It blew me away and I vividly remember thinking “This is an amazing beer! If I could, I would drink it in place of water”. Fast-forward two years, and the curiosity had got too much. I contacted the folks at BrewDog to find out what they thought of the idea, and being the crazy cats (or dogs!) they are, they gave me the big thumbs up!*”

“Nanny State is the only non-alcoholic beer worth drinking. Period. In the middle ages, beer was consumed as an alternative to water as it was so much safer. This was the case right up until the 19th Century, and since Nanny State contains such low ABV, I figured this must be as close to water as you can get while keeping an epic hoppiness intact. It’s got a more complex flavour and aroma profile than a lot of the beefier ABV beers I’ve tried, and it doesn’t contain any fake stuff like a lot of industrially brewer beers. Plus, it knocks mainstream brewers out of the ball park flavour-wise.”

Brandon works in a beer shop in France, La Cave a Bulles, so he knows his way around craft beer. Humans need water to survive, and this adventure into alternative hydration will prove that craft beer is good enough quality to replace water in the diet of a normal, healthy guy.

Got any ideas of what Brandon could use Nanny State to replace? He is open to suggestions! Reckon he should steam his clothes with a beer-powered iron? Wash his car with hoppy goodness? Drop them in the comments.

*Brandon sought medical advice prior to commencing this project and is undertaking it independently of BrewDog. We just think it’s awesome and wanted to share it.
