From Blue Point brewing:
The first batches of this year’s Wet Hops Pale Ale are in the tanks and will be ready to drink in the next few weeks.
According to Hopunion, LLC – Blue Point Brewing Company is the only east coast brewery to brew with their rush delivered west coast fresh hops. Wet hops are fresh off the vine and must be used within 48 hours for maximum aroma and bitterness potency; which means we only brew a few batches in late summer when the harvests of west coast hops can be shipped overnight.
The Wet Hops Experiment brewing day starts out with Munich and a little bit of wheat malt to create our twist on a classic American Pale Ale malt base. Centennial, Cascade, and Crystal hops are introduced during the boil and each batch is hop-backed and then dry-hopped with 200 pounds of west coast fresh hops for the perfect aroma and finish to this well balanced, easy drinking pale ale. For the first time ever, the extremely limited Blue Point Wet Hops Experiment will be available in 22-oz. bottles to all 15 states of our distribution this fall.
