GRAND JUNCTION, CO — Kannah Creek Brewing Company contracted Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) to distribute their beer throughout the state of Colorado. The first shipment of beer was picked up on Friday, August 16 from their 905 Struthers facility, Edgewater Brewery.
The first shipment included 6-packs, 12-packs, and kegs of Kannah Creek Brewing Company’s Lands End Amber and Standing Wave Pale Ale to be sold in liquor stores, restaurants, and bars around the state.
The Lands End Amber is a German-style Altbier and is deep copper in color with a crisp clean finish. This beer balances the rich character of specialty malts with the mild aroma and bitterness of three hop additions. The Standing Wave Pale Ale is rich amber in color with a distinctive hoppy characteristic. It is brewed in a traditional English style with Crystal malts and select variety of American hops. It has a complex malty flavor, crisp hop balance, and inviting aroma.
Kannah Creek Brewing Company started self-distributing to local establishments on June 25. Currently their beer is available in over 30 local liquor stores as well as three stores in Montrose. RNDC will expand into other Colorado markets quickly with plans to distribute to the mountains and metro Denver area first and then Fort Collins and Colorado Springs.
“Kannah Creek has developed a great reputation on the Western Slope and RNDC is very excited to join in partnership with them to get their great beers into the hands of consumers across the rest of the state,” stated Scott Klug, RNDC beer division manager.
Kannah Creek Brewing Company opened in October 2005, and with the growing demand for their craft beer opened a second brewery and bottling facility, Edgewater Brewery, in South downtown Grand Junction this past May. The new facility houses a 30 barrel brewhouse, four 60 barrel fermentation tanks, and one of only three bottling lines of its kind in the entire United States.
