The original story is here…and now this update from Four Peaks Brewing:
Many of you have been asking over the past couple of weeks as to when the "Heroes 19" Collaborative Beer honoring the Yarnell firefighters was coming out and, well, the time has almost arrived.
But first a little back story for those who may not be familiar with what's going on.
In July, Prescott Brewing Company volunteered to brew a special commemorative beer in collaboration with more than 40 other independent craft breweries making up the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild.
The goal: To help raise money for the fallen 19 wild-land firefighters who gave their all outside of Prescott.
It was thought only appropriate that it was brewed at the Prescott Brewing Company since several of the fallen were regulars and one was a former employee.
According to the brewers, the beer they brewed is as follows:
Heroes 19 is an American Brown Ale that's a little lighter in color than a regular brown ale. This beer starts with a slight malty nose with a definite hop aroma, light brown in color. Taste wise you'll notice a light toasty character followed by a hint of caramel with a pronounced hop flavor and a nice lingering hop bitterness.
It was brewed on July 19th. It has a color of 19 SRM (geek talk...), and was brewed with 19 different hops, all donated by individual Guild members. The malt was donated by Briess Malting Co. and the distribution and warehousing is being done, gratis, by Hensley.
It was Brewed and kegged in Prescott and distributed to our member breweries all over the state for sale on draft with all the proceeds going to Prescott Firefighters Charities.
"Heroes 19" will be available at all 3 Four Peaks locations on Monday, August 19th.
Remember, 100% of the money collected from every sale will be going directly to Prescott Firefighters Charities, so please drop by and try one.
