Today we get the first look at two new exciting beers coming from the Nebraska Brewing Inception Series. Cowboys is a Saison brewed with rose hips & hibiscus that is aged in wine barrels with Cherry Juice. Indians is also a Saison brewed with rose hips & hibiscus aged in wine barrels with cherry juice, so the differences in the beers appears to be very subtle (see below). Both beers will be packaged in 22oz bottles and come in at 6.8% ABV. Look for Cowboys and Indians to hit shelves later this week.
An update on these beer from our pal Paul Kavulak:
These 2 beers actually started out and were intended to be blended to make a single beer. During the evaluation phases, we noticed one of them (Indians) heading in a funky / Bretty direction while Cowboys was progressing down the straight and narrow to a really cool barrel-aged Saison. The sweet thing is that in spite of the 1 Chardonnay barrel heading funky - it did so in a very nice way. Prior to the end of an aging cycle, we knew we'd just bottle the same beer / two variants and come up with separate names for both. Same base but 2 really different beers. Since we wave the Nebraska flag and everyone thinks we have a cow in every garage anyway, Cowboys and Indians stuck. My guess is we'll have them on the shelf sometime later this week.
