From Fort Collins:
Fort Collins, CO) – Fort Collins Brewing, makers of Chocolate Stout, Red Banshee, and Rocky Mountain IPA, have three new beers on tap in their Tasting Room this week.
Weizenbock, part of the limited release Tap Club series, combines the rich flavors of a dunkelweizen (dark fruit, wheat, banana, clove, and chocolate, to name a few) with the strength and body of a bock. Not only dark, this unfiltered style receives its characteristic cloudiness from suspended yeast and the high protein count of wheat malt. The signature banana and clove nose of this tremendously complex beer comes from its unique yeast strain developed in Bavaria.
Weizenbock has an ABV of 8.3% and 25 IBUs
Happy Pils, another member of the Tap Club series, is a continental Pils that is light and slightly sweet on the tongue and finishes with refreshing dryness without being overly bitter. Perfect for the warm days of early summer, which finally seems to have arrived in the Front Range.
Happy Pils has an ABV of 5.3% and 19 IBUs.
Collusion Project in which all breweries in the City of Fort Collins took part to celebrate American Craft Beer Week. All breweries started out with same malt bill and collaborated with two other breweries to select the yeast, hops, and additional malts. FCB’s version, created with the help of Black Bottle Brewery and Coopersmith’s, features Apple wood and Cherry wood smoked malts to add just a hint of smoke and was aged on French Oak chips to add a black tea spice flavor. Be sure to try all the Collusion beers across Fort Collins!
All three beers are in limited supply, so those who want to get their hands on them are advised not to delay.
