Terrapin Twilight Weekend is quickly approaching! Join us on April 26-27 in downtown Athens for a weekend of races, exhibitions, food, drink, music, and more! This year's event is promising to be bigger and better than ever before; an expected crowd of 40,000+ people will visit the Classic City, and a new a partnership adds even more Athens twang to a fun-filled weekend.
While the main focus of the weekend is the professional women's and men's Twilight Criterium held on Saturday evening, a full array of amateur events, showcases, and live music throughout the weekend mean that everyone in the family can be involved. Events including the 5K Run, Gambler Bike Ride (50K and 100K), Twiathlon, Kids' Races, Mountain Bike Races, and other Amateur Races are open to the public; to register visit http://www.athenstwilight.com/register.
New this year is the partnership between the Twilight Criterium and Athens Americana. The Twilight Americana Music Festival will be held in conjunction with Terrapin Twilight Weekend from April 25-28, and will feature local, regional, and national Americana acts at various participating music venues. Tickets are on sale now; a wristband includes tickets to all Twilight Americana headlining events as well as free entry to shows at more intimate venues. Individual tickets to headlining events are also available. The VIP option includes a wristband, access to the Americana VIP area at the corner of Lumpkin St. & Clayton St. during the Twilight Criterium bike race (with complimentary beer from 7-9 pm on 4/27), the VIP Kick Off Party on Thurs. 4/25 from 5-8 pm, and an event poster.
