Bloomington Brewing Co - Vision Weiss Sales To Benefit Charity

The Bloomington Brewing Company announced today that the 2013 Vision Weiss Community Vision Campaign recipient is Bloomington’s Cardinal Stage Company. One dollar from each pint of Vision Weiss sold at Lennie’s throughout the season will be donated to the Cardinal Stage Company. In addition, a portion of the sales of each keg of Vision Weiss will also be donated by the brewery to the Campaign.

Vision Weiss is a spring and summer seasonal ale of the Bloomington Brewing Co. and available April to October. Weiss Bier is a traditional German style ale, light and refreshing and fermented with a unique strain of yeast which remains suspended in the beer and imparts distinct aromas including clove, banana and other tropical fruits.

“Each year we use proceeds from our sales of Vision Weiss to support a worthwhile local campaign, but particularly one like this that supports a vision for an even better community and invests in a way that will pay dividends for the next generation.” explained company co-founder Jeff Mease

The first of this season’s Vision Weiss will be released at Nick’s English Hut at 7pm April 11^th. The beer will be available beginning April 12^th and all summer long at the Brewpub at Lennie’s.

Vision Weiss is a traditional German-style Hefeweizen, often simply called a "wheat beer" or "weiss." Vision Weiss is beautifully pale yellow, and cloudy, due to the special Bavarian yeast strain some of which remains suspended in the beverage. Vision Weiss is refreshingly complex with subtle hints of vanilla, clove and banana. These interesting tropical flavors are actually created by the yeast during the fermentation process.
