A nice gesture coming from Brown Paper Tickets after the Founders KBS issues:
Hello Founders event patron:
As promised, we've tried to find a way to console for the effects of
breaking the sale of the KBS release event tickets a few weeks ago. The delay in returning with this offering was simply trying to find the right solution - maybe a
party, or tickets to another beer release in Michigan, or countless other
ideas. In the end, we've settled on something simple: a Founders gift
card for $20.
We hope that you continue to patronize their incredible beer and
company, as well as Brown Paper Tickets. As you may have read on
Founders’ website, we're also trying to make a $2,000 donation in their
name to the Grand Rapids White Water initiative.
Brown Paper Tickets has handled close to a million events over the
years, and we've broken a few events along the way. As we all have in
the industry. But we own our mistakes and fix them as best we can. And
while our mission has been to give more than we take and fix the ticketing industry, sometimes we have our own systems to fix.
In this case, we have three new systems and they
have already proved themselves on other events, including several
limited edition beer releases. Since we've been regularly handling
events with sales and traffic easily 50x the KBS release, we stopped
tracking them. Big mistake.
