From Bronx Brewery:
Bronx, NY, March 11, 2013/mbb/ – The Bronx Brewery is set to set to launch its third specialty beer, the Bronx Belgian Pale Ale, next week. The new beer will go on sale in select bars and restaurants throughout the New York City; Long Island; and Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster, and Dutchess counties next Monday, March 18. It will be available through the end of June.
The brewers will officially introduce the Bronx Belgian Pale Ale beer at a special event at Coopers Craft & Kitchen (87 2nd Avenue, New York) on Thursday, March 21 from 7PM to 10PM. General Manager Chris Gallant, Head Brewer Damian Brown, and Sales Director Sean McCain will be on hand to talk about the new beer and answer questions about the recipe development and brewing process. The beer will be poured alongside the flagship Bronx Pale Ale and the Bronx Black Pale Ale, the brewery’s winter specialty pale ale.
Two strains of Trappist yeast, one Belgian ale yeast, and Belgian candi sugar highlight this remarkably intricate, fruity, spicy, and earthy straw-colored Belgian Pale Ale. Belgian Pilsner and Biscuit malts from Beloeil and German Vienna malts from Bamberg provide a clean backdrop for the spicy and lightly herbal Sterling hops. “The idea with this pale ale was to bring the distinctive Belgian yeast profile to the forefront, showcasing its complex flavors,” says Brown. “We are excited to have it out for the springtime in New York!”
The new beer will join the Bronx lineup, alongside the flagship Bronx Pale Ale, available year-round; seasonal Bronx Rye Pale Ale and Bronx Black Pale Ale; and select barrel aged pale ales.
The company also recently announced the location of its new brewery (856 E 136th Street, Bronx). Planning and construction is underway in Port Morris, and the team hopes to have the new facility producing beer and hosting tastings by the end of 2013.
