Rupert’s Brew House Coming to Kalamazoo, MI

Kalamazoo is becoming a beer-destination more and more these days….with Bell’s opening a new bar and now Rupert’s Brew House coming.  Details from Mlive:

Rupert's Brew House will be located at 773 W. Michigan Ave. in the space formerly occupied by The Strutt. The building is owned by Heinz Schroeder who also owns the nearby bar, Rugger's Up & Under. The building has been vacant since The Strutt closed in March.

Kalamazoo native and co-owner Mark Rupert, 34, is in the early stages of establishing the company. He's currently renovating the building, searching for investors and beginning the licensing paperwork. He said he hopes to have a neighborhood brewery that features live music in keeping with the tradition of the space, which also housed Boogie Records years ago.

"I'm hoping to open by early summer, but that's being super optimistic," he said.
