Some interesting news coming from our pal Larry Bell at Bell’s Brewery Inc today of a new Chicago-biased sports bar for Kalamazoo Michigan. Details from Mlive:
The Bell's Brewery Inc. president, a native of Park Forest, Ill., said he's already purchased an art deco bar and will sit down with architects later this month to go over plans for what will be Larry Bell's Chicago-Biased Thinking Person's Sports Bar. It will feature many of Bell's personal memorabilia, including pieces from Wrigley Field, home of the Cubs.
The sports bar will be located in the space formerly occupied by the Bell's General Store, which is now along East Kalamazoo Avenue. The former General Store space is enclosed in the redesigned Beer Garden and sits near the band shell. While it will emphasize Chicago teams -- Bell said Windy City sports fans in the Kalamazoo area needed a place to watch their teams -- there will also be opportunities to watch professional sports teams from Michigan, such as the Detroit Tigers, who made it to last year's World Series, something fans of "The Lovable Losers" have only dreamed about for decades.
