From 612Brew:

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – February  2013/mbb/ – Who’s thirsty? After a successful launch last night at The Pourhouse, Minneapolis’ newest brewery 612Brew is proud to announce the grand opening of its new taproom at 945 Broadway St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413. The taproom opens to the public at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13 with special surprise events continuing through the weekend.

“We’re thrilled to finally be opening to the public,” said 612Brew co-founder Robert Kasak. “We’re really proud of the beer we’re making and we can’t wait to start sharing it with craft beer fans in Minneapolis. We make the beer we like to drink, so if you’re anything like us you’ll love it, too. Of course, if you’re anything like us, you’re also obsessed with horror movies and donuts.”

The 612Brew brewery and taproom is the anchor tenant in the historic building at 945 Broadway St. NE, currently being renovated into a multi-use development called The Broadway. The 612Brew space features exposed brick and timber, polished concrete floors, a bar made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes, a nightclub-grade audio system that’s been known to pump some 2Pac and a mural by renowned local artist Adam Turman. The taproom features an occupancy of 65 and open views of the brewhouse, so patrons can see how the beer they’re drinking is made.

Upon completion of The Broadway’s renovation, the 612Brew taproom will also feature an outdoor amphitheater and rain garden that will greatly expand its occupancy and allow for outdoor concerts and food trucks.

The initial 612Brew lineup includes:

Rated R:
West Coast IPA meets Midwest Rye. Rated R is a beer for the Minnesota hopheads. This Rye IPA greets you with a burst of citrus hop aroma and tempts you with the spice from the rye. Rated R is 612Brew’s most full-bodied and hoppy beer, yet easy enough that your mom would like it. If your mom is awesome.

SIX:
SIX is a golden-colored, American pale ale flavorful enough for craft beer fans and approachable enough to be your everyday beer. SIX is light-bodied and biscuit-flavored with a light hop aroma. It is named after the local bus number that runs past the original 612Brew test brewery, where the beer was first brewed. It’s
also the first number of the company name, but you probably noticed that. We think it’s perfect for back yards, front porches and the Minnesota seasons. We think you’ll want to drink this beer any time … all the time.

Bitter Cold Winter IPA Series #1:
The first in the winter series of single malt and single-hop India Pale Ale’s brewed to showcase the individual characters of the ingredients. Brewed with 100% Marris Otter and 100% single hop direct from Willamette Valley Hops

Zero Hour:

Excitement is in the mystery. Zero Hour is a black ale, aggressively hopped and blacked out with Midnight Wheat. You may wonder what style of beer you’re drinking; well, turn off the lights and savor the experience.
