Exciting news for a member of our very own Wyoming Valley Homebrewers. Details from Fegley’s Brew Works:
Michael Sexton was announced the winner of Fegley’s Brew Works ‘Brewer For a Day’ competition on Wednesday January 16th. His Black Rye P.A. beat out over 60 other home brewers making him the “Brewer For a Day” and giving his ale the title of LVBW1, the first beer of Lehigh Valley Beer Week.
With his winning brew, Michael appeared at Allentown Brew Works on Thursday January 24th at 8am to brew beside Brewmaster Beau Baden. Along with this, he was treated to a complimentary meal and tasting with the brewery staff.
This event is the preamble for Lehigh Valley Beer Week being held the week of February 11th-17th. Michael’s beer will be considered LVBW1 and be featured throughout the week. Along with the ‘Brewer For a Day’ competition, Lehigh Valley Beer Week will feature beer related events across the Lehigh Valley.
Currently, over 25 bars, breweries, and vendors are participating in this weeklong festival. Lehigh Valley Beer Week aims to bring craft beer lovers together for a week of festivities. Currently, events include chances to meet brewers, tap takeovers, beer dinners, bar crawls, live music, trivia, and more.
