Smuttynose - Finestkind IPA

image

Here’s a new beer coming from Smuttynose called Finestkind IPA.  This new IPA will be packaged in 12oz bottles and no word on ABV or release dates so stay tuned.

13 Jan 2013:  This update from Peter Egelstone, President of Smuttynose Brewing Co

Yes, it is the same beer. When we first released it in 2004, it was merely called Smuttynose IPA. "Finestkind" is the name people began calling it practically from the start. This was clearly a reference to Paul's quote at the bottom of the label, and to distinguish it from our Big A IPA. Now we have finally decided to concede to popular preference and formally name the beer what most people call it anyway.

  1. so how does this differ from Smuttynose IPA which has been around for many years and uses the same label with Cy and Paul on it? seems like they only added the word finestkind to it

  2. Good question. Not sure if this is a new label for the same recipe or a different recipe.

  3. Smuttynose IPA has always been nicknamed "Finestkind". Must just be a name change.
