Twenty-One years ago today, the Schlafly Tap Room first opened its doors at 21st and Locust in downtown St. Louis, MO. Our co-founders, Tom and Dan just wanted a place to drink great, handcrafted, traditional beer styles with their friends, which simply weren’t available in St. Louis at that time. They didn’t set out to become St. Louis’s largest locally owned brewery, but twenty-one years later, here we are.
In celebration of our 21st Schlafiversary, beer will be offered at 1991 pricing ALL DAY (Dec. 26th) at the Tap Room (and only at the Tap Room, sorry Bottleworks). In addition to special beer pricing, we are also giving away 20 oz. SIP Club mugs when you sign up for a new 2013 SIP Club Membership, and this is happening at both Schlafly Breweries today (you’re welcome Bottleworks). If you are thinking of swinging by the party later on tonight, we will have some great local, live music lined from Tight Pants Syndrome, The Union Electric, and Magic City who will be rocking the brewery from 9pm until midnight. But that’s not all!
The Schlafiversary celebration this year couldn’t be contained to just one day. As you’ve probably (hopefully) already heard, we’re throwing a FREE concert at The Pageant on January 5th featuring Bunny Grunt, Old Lights, and The Bottle Rockets! We still have some General Admission tickets left that can be picked up at either Schlafly Brewery. Our General Admission tickets; however, do not guarantee entry to the show. There is only one kind of ticket that guarantees entry to the show…THE VIP TICKET (cue dramatic music)!
Starting today, we’re running a contest through our Twitter Account to give away 5 pairs of VIP tickets and one VIP Package to our 21st Birthday Party at The Pageant with The Bottle Rockets. The contest begins today and runs through noon on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013. To enter to win, you must be Following our @Schlafly Twitter Account, you must be at least 21 years old, and you must send a tweet that includes the message “RT to enter to win @Schlafly VIP tix to @ThePageantSTL - #SchlaflyVIP”. No purchase is needed to enter to win the tickets. On January 2nd, we will randomly select six @Schlafly Twitter Followers who entered our contest to win either one of 5 pairs of VIP Tickets, or our Grand Prize VIP Prize Package consisting of 2 VIP tickets to the Jan. 5th show, a $75 gift certificate to Pi Pizzeria Delmar to have some dinner and drinks before the show, and a one-night hotel stay (one room with either one or two beds) for two at the Moonrise Hotel for after the show. Pretty awesome, right?!
