From Penn Brewery:
Penn's annual St. Nick Weekend is our favorite holiday tradition. Take a break from the season's frenzy and join us for these events:
Friday, December 7 - Old St. Nick is coming all the way from the North Pole to tap this year's first keg of St. Nikolaus Bock Brewer's Reserve, our very special seasonal beer. Be there for the 7:00 pm tapping and be among the first to sip some - Santa says it's better than milk and cookies! Gaudi Buam will perform from 5:30-8 pm, followed by the Blues Orphans, playing from 8-11 pm.
Saturday, December 8 - Meet Santa and Friends! Join us for lunch at Penn and meet Santa, the Pirate Parrot, and the Penguins' Iceburgh between noon and 2 pm. We'll be offering Penn's regular menu with a few special holiday additions. To make reservations, please call 412-237-9400, X-120.
If you missed the sneak peek last year, look for the grand rollout this month of Penn's newest winter beer, Penn Nut Roll Ale. Nut Roll Ale was inspired by the popular eastern European-style pastry made by so many Pittsburgh "nanas" at holiday time. This spiced nut brown ale is redolent with cinnamon and vanilla, a nutty character, and a dry finish. With an ABV of 5.5% and IBUs of 20, Nut Roll Ale pairs beautifully with sweets or desserts. It's currently available on draft, in 12-oz. bottles, and in Penn's Gourmet Selection variety packs. If you like nut roll, you'll love this!
St. Nikolaus Bock and St. Nikolaus Bock Brewer's Reserve are also back for the holidays and are high on your favorite beer lover's gift wish list. St. Nick Bock is now available on draft, in 12-oz. bottles, and in Gourmet Selection variety packs. Our Brewer's Reserve - a silver medalist at last year's Great American Beer Festival® - is selling in 22-oz. bottles and on draft. With a touch of added honey, Reserve has a slightly higher ABV of 8.5% - and it always sells out quickly.
Also look for our Holiday Gourmet Selection pack this month. In addition to St. Nick and Nut Roll Ale, the pack also includes Allegheny Pale Ale, Penn Weizen, Penn Gold, and Kaiser Pils.
Looking ahead to 2013, Penn's popular Chocolate Meltdown, our rich, chocolate stout, and our Märzen beer, a favorite for Mardi Gras, will both be available beginning in January.
