Under the category of “Headlines I could Never make Up” today we have a beer brewed by Flying Monkeys for the band Barenaked Ladies called “BNL Strong Beer.” This beer is a chocolate imperial stout and according to the press release the idea was apparently sparked by the Pearl Jam beer “Faithful” brewed last year by Dogfish Head. Brew day happened last week so expect to see this 750ml bottled brew hit limited markets in about 4 weeks. The beer will come in at 11% ABV and cost about $14.
