On Monday, October 15, Baxter Brewing announced plans for a gigantic brewery expansion, increasing our capacity by 400% over the next year and adding 15 to 20 jobs in the process.
As we progress through the $2 million expansion, we'll start a 24-hour a day, 5-6 day a week brewing process, likely in the first quarter of 2013. That means more beer for Maine, Massachusetts...and maybe beyond!
Our president, Luke Livingston, said "People are begging for beer," referring to the current high demand versus production capacity. "Our orders have been 3 times greater than the amount of beer we're able to produce at the moment. So there are a lot of Mainers that are unfortunately very thirsty." Thankfully, this expansion will solve that problem and move us forward.

We're happy to announce the newest addition to our Seasonal Series: Phantom Punch Winter Stout. Phantom Punch is a rich, hearty stout brewed with real vanilla beans and cocoa nibs, which are complemented by a robust roastiness that will help you duck and dodge the cold chill of winter.
Our newly redone Tap Room has been open for a few weeks now, and people have been enjoying our regular commercial brews - as well as pours of our Small Batch Series - alongside gourmet soft pretzels from Pretzel Logic Gourmet and Baxter Spicy Mustard from Mother's Mountain.
Now we want to party with you!
Stop by the Tap Room on Saturday, November 24th (the Saturday after Thanksgiving) from 12pm-6pm for an open house and winter celebration! Baxter Brewing Company staff will also be on hand to chat, answer questions, and enjoy a brew with you.
A portion of the proceeds from the day's beer sales will go to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society.
