Some updates coming from Samuel Adams this afternoon:
Samuel Adams® OctoberFest has returned! A perennial fall favorite, OctoberFest is our take on a Bavarian-style lager with notes of sweet caramel and toffee and a light hop note. While some may say it's a tad early, we're confident OctoberFest has the perfect balance to close out the summer and look forward to the cooler days ahead.
While OctoberFest brewing has taken a lot of our time here at the brewery, that's not the only style we have in-store for the changing of the seasons. Our Harvest Collection 12-pack also includes our go-to favorite Boston Lager, Harvest Pumpkin Ale, Latitude 48 IPA, Dunkelweizen and a new brew Hazel Brown (**more on that below). Talk about variety... OctoberFest gives you a brew with five different malts while Latitude 48 IPA boasts five different hops.
As we alluded to above, Samuel Adams® Hazel Brown is the newest member of our beer family and was brewed to honor the fall hazelnut harvest. A nut brown ale, Hazel Brown's medium body holds a discrete hazelnut aroma with slightly sweet caramel and toffee notes from the malts and an underlyingspiciness from the hops.
We're also excited about the arrival of our newest Small Batch release, Samuel Adams® Fat Jack! With no shortage of flavors (we crammed in 28 pounds of pumpkin per barrel), this double pumpkin ale has a deep russet color and a full bodied, roasty sweetness from the addition of fall spices. This fall brew is available for a limited time in 22oz and draft in some areas. Fat Jack is just rolling out so visit our Find a Sam page to check it out near you.
UPDATE/CORRECTION from Samuel Adams :
Some of you may be receiving this email for the second time. It appears we had a line of code sneak into our newsletter within the Beer of the Month column that noted Hazel Brown’s has “A distinct sweet and slightly tart cherry flavor.” Anyone who had the opportunity to try Hazel Brown understands that it clearly does not have hints of Cherry, though that might be a pretty interesting brew. We’ve gone ahead and updated the text for Hazel Brown accordingly. Apologies for the double hit to the in-box!
