Exciting news from Lompoc :
This Friday, August 3rd, is the bottle and draft release of our Bourbon Barrel Aged Big Bang Red at Sidebar from 4 to 10 pm. This beer was brewed in October 2011, then aged in Bourbon Whiskey barrels for seven months, then cellared for an additional three. It has a dark crimson color and malty body, with a Bourbon aroma and a slight vanilla flavor, and comes in at 8.1%. Enjoy it at Lompoc, then take some home - 22 oz. bottles sell for $9.
We'll also be serving up The Yankee Clipper IPA, brewed in honor of Joe DiMaggio, a Yankee great. Brewed with Liberty and Saaz hops, it has a golden-orange hue with a grapefruit aroma and subtle citrus flavors, finishing spicy and dry (5.6%); 2010 Batch 69 Baltic Porter, a strong, dark beer with hints of chocolate and black licorice that was brewed with a lager yeast, giving it a much cleaner smoother finish than a traditional porter (7.7%); 2011 Brewdolph, a Belgian style red ale brewed with the Belgian Ardennes yeast strain that boasts a mild fruitiness and a spicy clove character (7.7%); Flamingo, our Kick Axe Dry Hopped Pale Ale fermented in Cabernet Franc barrels with 35 pounds of sour cherries (5.2%); and Kick Axe, a crisp, easy drinking pale ale dry hopped in the fermenter with Cascades giving off a huge hop aroma (5.2%).
