NORTH WALES, PA – On Saturday, September 15 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., head brewer Vince DesRosiers of Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant (1460 Bethlehem Pike, 267-708-2000) will host a very special Give 19 event, celebrating the release of Iron Hill’s Grand Inquisitor bottled reserve beer and benefitting Flyers NHL All-Star Scott Hartnell’s non-profit #HartnellDown Foundation with 19% of proceeds donated directly to his foundation in a fun play on Iron Hill’s innovative “Give 20” donation program.  In addition, guests can buy $1 raffle tickets for the chance to win a three-liter bottle of Grand Inquisitor, signed by Scott Hartnell, to also benefit the foundation.

“I’m passionate about a few things: great beer, Philadelphia sports and giving back to the community,” says DesRosiers.  “This event combines them all, and we can’t wait to welcome Scott to Iron Hill and contribute to his worthwhile foundation with this fun, interactive event.”

Grand Inquisitor is DesRosier’s reinvention of Iron Hill’s award-winning Russian Imperial Stout that has been aged in bourbon barrels with whole vanilla beans.  For the release event, a limited offering of 200 large-format 750mL bottles will be available for purchase for $23.50.  Hartnell will attend the release party to mingle with guests and promote the cause of the day, his #HartnellDown Foundation, which is devoted to supporting hockey, children and communities around the US and Canada.

“Give 20” is Iron Hill’s inspired way of contributing to charitable and non-profit initiatives: when these groups approach the restaurant to inquire about donations, Iron Hill offers them a stack of their “Give 20” cards.  Cards are distributed to supporters by the group, and on a specified date, the supporters bring the cards to their local Iron Hill and redeem them with their meal: 20% of their food sales are donated, by the restaurant, to the organization they’re supporting.  Organizations that are interested in participating in the Give 20 program should contact their local Iron Hill.  In this case, for the “Give 19” event honoring Hartnell’s jersey number, 19% of proceeds from the launch party will be donated to #HartnellDown.
