I’m a big proponent of breweries using their local produce & local resources in their beer…so it’s exciting to hear that Goodfellow’s Brewing will be working to open Frugal Endeavor Farms and the first crop will be hops. Details from SouthCoastToday:
More than a decade of dreaming for two families will come to fruition next month when Goodfellows Brewing Co. opens on Frugal Endeavors Farm.
Part of being that model includes incorporating sustainable practices whenever possible, and both the farm and brewery does this in multiple ways, including processing the hops on site and reusing water needed for the brewing process multiple times.
The brewery will operate year-round, with a 160 calorie/pint light beer; an Oktoberfest-style beer called "Wheneverfest"; an India Pale Ale called "Race Course Road IPA" and a classic stout available throughout the year. The brewery will also have one seasonal offering available. These include a blonde ale for the summer and a sweet pumpkin ale for the fall (pumpkins grown on site).
