Growth is a good thing for a brewery, but sometimes it comes with complications…..like simply keeping up with demand. This from Fullsteam Brewery, Durham, NC:
TWO YEARS AGO -- late July 2010 -- we brewed our first batch of beer. It was a test batch named "Very First Batch." We thought we'd brew a new beer just once -- testing out our system with a farmhouse ale with no past history.
That beer, Summer Basil, has turned into our biggest summertime hit...so much so that quantities are limited for a couple weeks as we race to meet customer demand and keep up with the other (pretty popular) beers we brew.
The "good problems" continue. But good problems are still problems. I'm working on a big leap forward: raising funds for a 30-barrel brewhouse and fermenters to take us to the next level. Let me know if you're interested in helping us reach that next level.
Cheers,
Sean
