An interesting tidbit coming from PR.com:
Online ticket resellers do have a handful of tickets for sale, but with prices averaging around $250 - versus $65 face value, it puts a financial stain on visitors and many locals simply can’t afford it. Where there is demand though, supply will inevitably arise and this situation is no exception. Local radio station, KBCO, and beer-centric website craftbeer.com, are both offering up a chance at winning tickets for fans that “like” their facebook pages.
However, one of the more creative opportunities comes from local band, Lost Caravan, who is offering up a pair of tickets to one lucky fan. People looking to enter can simply enter on their website, www.lostcaravan.net, or sign up at one of their shows.
The idea for the ticket giveaway came from lead singer, Lindsay Meredith. After buying tickets for a group of friends she ended up with two extras. Rather than resell them online she thought she would use the opportunity to show her appreciation to her fans, and possibly pick up a few more. “Yeah, I’ve put it out on our facebook page and twitter feed and the response from our fans has been great. I’m really hoping though that this might introduce our band to people that haven’t heard us yet,” she said.
