We brought you the story that Neuweiler Brewery in Allentown, PA was potentially becoming a movie studio. Now comes word from the morning call that there may be other options:
Despite years of neglect, most of the 11 buildings in the Neuweiler complex are in good enough condition that they can be reused and restored, said Gahagan, a managing engineer with Cornerstone, which was paid $55,000 through a combination of state and regional grants to produce the study.
The consultants laid out several redevelopment options ranging from a $52 million plan to demolish many of the buildings in favor of new offices, to a complete historic reuse costing $30 million and focusing on apartments that would rent for $850 to $1,000 a month.
Some options include a brew pub, art studios or charter school in the mix.
