Looks like our pal Claus Hagelman & the guys @ 16 Mile Brewery have created a unique co-brew with local chefs using local ingredients. Details from Delmarvanow:
GEORGETOWN -- A group of Rehoboth Beach chefs have collaborated with 16 Mile Brewery to create a limited-release beer with local ingredients.
Eastern Chef Brew is a bitter ale brewed with figs, coriander and sumac and is about 5.5 percent alcohol by volume.
The brewing process began at 5:30 a.m. last Thursday, said 16 Mile co-owner Chad Campbell. Ingredients were added at specific and planned times. At 10:13 a.m., a batch of hops were added into the brew. By noon, the product was moved to the fermenter, where it remained for about a week.
The Rehoboth chefs who joined 16 Mile on the project were Jay Caputo of Espuma & Cabo restaurants, Gretchen Hanson of Hobo's, Hari Cameron of Muse, Meghan and Lion Gardner of Blue Moon, Danielle Panarello of Eden and Jam restaurants, and Sean Xiong of Confucius.
