We let all of you know a few months back about the collaboration brews we were doing with Cigar City/Blue Jacket Brewery and St. Somewhere, and they are now here for your tasting pleasure! The South Florida debut of Snack Attack and Du Citron Partie will be this Tuesday at The Funky Buddha Lounge & Brewery. We will begin pouring these beers at 7PM but as always we are open for regular business starting at 5PM with our 2-4-1 Buddha Beer happy hour. A little more information about these beers......
Snack Attack - Imperial Milk Porter - 10% ABV
We brewed this beer with Cigar City and a new brewery opening in Washington, DC named Blue Jacket. A fury of emails went back and forth with ideas and flavors until we settled on an imperial porter with movie concession stand flavors. Flavors of salty chocolate, peanuts and licorice are all in play in this very unique milk porter.
Du Citron Partie - Saison - 6.5% ABV
This beer was brewed with Bob from St. Somewhere. We had discussed the idea of doing a collaboration beer for a long time before it actually happened. Our only plan was to have no plan. We decided to go Iron Chef with this one and not discuss any of the ingredients until brew day, which in the land of Bob starts at ungodly hours. As we figured out the base of the beer the next thought was what to add. We agreed on sage, lemon zest and a multitude of cracked peppercorn (red, white, black and green). We thought the lemon flavors would be like a party in your mouth, so we named it Du Citron Partie (Lemon Party).
So there you have it. The next one that we will release is a Brown Barleywine brewed with our friends at Tequesta Brewing Company. Several barrels are aging in Apple Brandy Barrels as we speak! We hope to be doing more collaborations in the future as we had a great time with these.
Hope to see everyone this Tuesday!
Cheers!
