Brooklyn - Brooklyner Wheat Beer

image
This looks to be a 12oz bottled version of the previously keg-only Brooklyner Weisse.  Today we have the 12oz bottle for Brooklyn Brewery Brooklyner Wheat Beer.  Look for this traditional Bavarian-style wheat beer to be unfiltered & 5.1% ABV.  It’s also interesting to see that this one will be brewed & bottled @ Post Road in Utica NY.

  1. The Brooklyner Weisse has been bottled previously (a search of the net will turn up many reference to it)- not sure when it went draught-only.

Also, there is no "Post Road Brewery" in Utica, NY. This beer, like all of Brooklyn's 12 oz. bottles, is contract-brewed and bottled at F. X. Matt in Utica. "Post Road" is simply a MA. brand Brooklyn bought in the mid-1990's and uses now only for it's pumpkin beer and as a "dba" name.

  2. Thanks Jess...good info. Brooklyn's website lists it as draft-only and Post Road was just the name used on the application. The label does look like they brought it back so I'd be curious to see the old label if you find it.

  5. Any idea when this coming out? Brewery stated they hadn't decided on plans yet. A bit odd considering they had the label approved.

  6. Many times the packaging approval is WAY ahead of production...sometimes months. These applications have to be done well in advance and sometimes plans change in the mean time...delaying or cancelling the beer. Based on it being a summer beer, I'd say we should see it by June/July or not at all.
