Bud Light Platinum– Blue Laws Version

imageWe brought you what turned out to be big news with the release of Bud Light Platinum…a new higher ABV version of Bud Light packaged in a non-returnable blue bottle.  With plans to market this on the Super Bowl and the fact that this brew is marketed as a 6% ABV version of their normal 4.2% ABV Bud Light I was really surprised to see this new 3.2% imageABW (that’s about 4% ABV) version.  Calories also drop to 89 from the Bud Light’s 110 and Platinum’s 137.  What an odd marketing move this turns out to be….but I can hear it now….Blue Bottle for the Blue Laws!  (Yes this is intended for Blue Law states that require a beer to be less than 4% ABW).

  1. Sounds lie a bate and switch to me. False advertising? I unsuspectingly bought this crap thinking it was the 6% version only to find out it was 3.2% crap version! And It was priced at the same price point as the 6% version! I wrote to the company about this falsified product and not stating there are two versions of this so called beer.
