Want to Work for Dogfish Head?

DFHLogoFrom ProBrewer:

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is seeking an off-centered leader to orchestrate the symphony that is Dogfish brewing. The successful candidate must be a triple threat: bringing outstanding people leadership, technical excellence, and off-centeredness in the form of amazing fit with our culture.

In loose terms, you will be leading/coaching/guiding/developing the awesome folks who make the stuff we all love. Some of your key duties will include the daily follow-up & monitoring of production brews, support to our Quality and Packaging team, ensuring quality of raw materials, preparation of upcoming brews and support for the 4-week production planning process. In the bigger picture, you will also think strategically and long-term to plan and ensure that there is adequate production available for sales that doesn’t compromise safety, quality or efficiency; this will include off-centered staffing, operating procedure development, systems utilization/maximization and so forth. You’ll champion process improvement through streamlining, training and seeking out new and innovative techniques. You will enable the creative geniuses who beer-innovate, by readying people and processes to fully realize their imagination in a bottle. You’ll model teamwork, collaboration, and open, honest, and healthy communication...it will not be enough for you to merely talk a good game, you gotta bring it. You must also be adept at the business end of the beer, in order to execute vetted, comprehensive budgets and hold you and your teams accountable. Yeah, you’ll be doing a lot (even more than this), but you know what, you’re going to love what you do, and the talented cast of characters that you’ll be doing it with. You should be a strong lead-by-example manager, who believes that your peoples successes are your greatest achievement. You must also be a strong communicator, both written and spoken, who builds cohesive, collaborative teams. This isn’t fluff, ya’ll; if you’re not passionate about your people then you simply won’t cut it in our environment. You should be a strategic and long-term thinker, who maintains a handle on today while planning and positioning for tomorrow. You must be flexible and adaptable in your approach and comfortable working in an environment where the goals are lofty, but the framework can be loose. You will have responsibility for a department that runs 24/7 therefore a willingness to be available to your people during all of those hours is essential, this position may work first, second or third shift as the team and situations demand.

Requirements:Our ideal candidate will be degreed in Brewing Science/Technology. A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in a brewing environment is required; five years of which must be at the supervisory/management level. Craft brewery experience will likely set our hearts aflutter! You must have a good understanding of the basic engineering principles common in brewing and be highly proficient in MS Office products; Great Plains experience is a plus.

Qualified, interested and dynamic individuals should please submit their letter of intention, salary requirements and resume to careers@dogfish.com. Resumes without cover letters will be hard pressed for consideration, truly. We offer competitive compensation, including bonus potential, health and dental insurance, and free beer!
