Mikkeller–Beer Geek Brunch Weasel Cognac Barrel & Calvados Barrel Editions (Made with Civet Cat Dropping Coffee)

Leave it to Mikkeller to come up with yet another version of his popular Beer Geek series of beers.  Up today we have Beer Geek Brunch Weasel Cognac Barrel Edition (ale brewed with coffee, aged in cognac barrels) 16.9oz bottles and a BIG 10.9% ABV.  “This imperial stout is brewed with one of the worlds most expensive coffee, made from droppings of weasel-like civet cats.  The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.  Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean.  Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee.  The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste & an even stronger aroma.”

As a bonus I’ve also added in the Calvados Barrel (apple-brandy) version below.

You can’t possible make this up….apparently Mikel was jealous of Sam Calagione’s Chicha (corn-spit) brew so he decided to up the yuk-factor!
