Bridgeport Brewing Hop Harvest 2011

BridgePortHopHarvest
A few weeks ago my excitement started to build.  On Aug 12th, Bridgeport Brewing released the 2011 22oz bottle label for Hop Harvest Ale.  This 6.5% triple hopped American-style Imperial IPA take Willamette Valley Centennial hops “from “field to brew in one hourwhich you have to love…and of course I do.  I’m a tremendous sucker for fresh-hop brews, and my pal Jeff Edgerton, master brewer from Bridgeport Brewing did not disappoint.  The hops come from Gayle Goscie’s farm in Silverton, OR so the hop presents if big and fresh!  Look for this to be the kick off beer for the Bridgeport Big Brew 22oz series & I could not chill a bottle quickly enough.  The flavor is wonderful with lots of floral and citrus hops, which belies it’s 65 IBU…I can also promise you this brew is SO good fresh, the bottles you see won’t last thru the weekend.  So get your butt out there and try some Bridgeport Hop Harvest 2011 NOW!  From the vines to the brew in 1-hour…do NOT miss out (thanks Jeff!)

This triple hopped, Imperial style ale gets its most important ingredient from Willamette Valley aroma hops.  Caramel malt joins forces with a touch of wheat to produce a deep amber color with a cloudy veil.  The result is an ale that will turn even the most pretentious hop fans jolly.”
