Here’s your first look at the 2011 Captain Lawrence Barrel Select Series American Sour Ale 2011. This version is described as a malt beverage aged with cherries in oak barrels. According to brewmaster Scott Vaccaro, “It took over 4 years to build up a reserve of barrel aged beers from which to pull from to create the beer you hold in your hands. A blend of several barrels varying in age; the resulting beer is tart, oaky and very unique.” Captain Lawrence also received approval for the same packaging, but instead of cherries, it uses raspberries….and as a bonus I’ve included the packaging for their Saison, also approved today.
