Here’s the latest release from Mikkeller’s gypsy brew team….Barrel-Aged Monk’s brew. This is a Dark Belgian Wild year ale aged in Red Wine barrels…and yes it comes in at a BIG 10.5% ABV in a 12.7 oz bottle. Sadly this ale is inspired by Rochefort’s brewers and in light of the Rochefort fire today, I thought this was a fitting tribute. This brew uses Candy Syrup, brown sugar and Northern Brewer, Syrian Goldings & Hallertau hops to create this unique ale. As a bonus I’ve included the keg packaging approved today for Mikkeller Two Gypsies Our Side Ale (7.5% ABV). This is a Stillwater collaboration brew that was brewed @ Stillwater and should be available in early 2011.
