Today's CBG listening experience had good and bad news brought about by a schedule change for me. Mrs. beerbuzz & I had an 8AM appointment to close on our beerbuzz-homestead refinancing. Wanting to parlay the 76-cents profit we've made on the mybeerbuzz.com experience, we wanted to either buy that vacation home on the Mexican Riviera, replace our aging 2009 Ferrari 512, secure that private Lear Jet we've always wanted, or buy a half a cup of Starbucks with our new found wealth. Given the potential flu-issues related to the Riviera or Lear Jet, and learning that you CAN just buy new Ferrari tires, we decided to do a Refinancing of the beerbuzz-homestead.
This pesky Refi-process landed us in the notary's office for the beginning of CBG, so I missed out. It was fun to hear the beer of the day because I'm a fan of Wild Devil and Victory in general, and I was excited to hear the guys (and Ruthie of course) pop a Brett-beer. For me Brett-beers always taste like either slightly sweet graham-crackers, or to quote Hawkeye in M*A*S*H, "a tennis sneaker buried under a chicken coop." Those that remember my Allagash/DeProef Brett-Beer from the Sabatini's-tasting will know what Hawkeye is talking about. Thankfully everyone seemed to like Wild Devil.
So that was the bad news portion of the scheduling delay (missing the beginning of the show)...so what was the good you ask? Turns our our very own Tracy from Victory was scheduled to be on the show and arrived late. As I'm making my way into the mybeerbuzz headquarters building, up pops Tracy live on the air. What a pleasant surprise to hear Tracy talk about the Victory beers and to hear some of the samples she dropped off...including my favorite Baltic Porter. Tracy also coined a new phrase for a session-beer calling it a "twelve-to-twelve" beer...very funny.
So cheers to good & bad news and the LONG-awaited completion of the mybeerbuzz-homestead Refi (do not get me started on whay the refinancing-process has used up more of my beer cellar that I'd like).
Thanks guys and thanks to Tracy for the pleasant mid-morning surprise.
