WeldWerks Brewing Offering Refund On Infected Barrel Aged Mexican Achromatic

imageFrom WeldWerks:

After extensive testing and lab analysis performed over the past several weeks, we have discovered that some bottles of Barrel Aged Mexican Achromatic (affectionately known as BAMA) have developed off-flavors, most likely caused by souring bacteria. These off-flavors are most commonly characterized by a noticeable tartness or acidity, reminiscent of sour cherries. We do not know exactly how widespread the issue is, nor how many bottles are affected and as a result, we are recommending that any remaining bottles be stored cold and consumed sooner rather than later. Bottles that have been affected are still safe to drink and do not present any health risks to consumers, they are just not representative of the flavor of the beer as we intended. Fortunately, the majority of the bottles we have tasted have not developed off-flavors and still taste as intended.

At WeldWerks, we take pride in our uncompromising commitment to both quality and service and whenever issues arise, we do everything we can to make them right. Therefore, we are offering a full refund ($14) to anyone who has experienced issues with their bottles of BAMA. Refunds will be issued via check and can be requested by completing the following process:

1) Write your first initial and last name in permanent marker or pen on the left side of the label, along with the current date. If requesting refunds for multiple bottles, simply add an alphabetical suffix to the end of the date, starting with “A”, then “B”, and so on.

2) Take a picture of the bottle, clearly showing your first initial, last name, and date on the label, as well as the top of the bottle with the cap removed.

3) Email the picture as an attachment, along with your full name, address and phone number, to refunds@weldwerksbrewing.com before May 1, 2017. Requests for refunds submitted after May 1, 2017 will not be accepted.

We are very sorry for the issue but rest assured, we have already begun implementing new quality control protocols to avoid similar issues in the future. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support and if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us!
