River North Funk the Man #4 & Mr. Sandman Coming 11/12

River North Brewery is bringing back the funk.

The brewery’s annual Funk the Man party goes down Saturday, November 12th from Noon to 9pm, featuring Funk the Man #4, the next beer in River North’s irreverent sour series. As a bonus, the brewery will also drop the first full release of Mr. Sandman imperial stout. Both beers will be available on tap and in bottles to go.

A mixed culture saison with white tea and rose hips, aged a full 32 months in wine barrels, Funk the Man #4 is River North’s lengthiest project to date. Ripe with tropical fruit and bracing acidity, a dry finish beckons you back for more. With only 50 cases total, this rare gem will only be available at the River North taproom. The brewery will offer bottles at $12 with a limit of 6.

Mr. Sandman is the coffee-free alter-ego of Nightmare Fuel, both double-digit imperial stouts. River North previously poured teaser kegs of this silky, stealthy beast, but this is the first full release of Mr. Sandman. Bottles will be available at $10, with a one-case limit, and the brewery notes this beer will age exceptionally well.

Finally, River North has one more beer up its sleeve. The brewery will also tap the only keg of Barrel Aged Mr. Sandman, a beer never poured for the public. With one five gallon keg, the Funk the Man Party is the only place to snag a pour of this elusive brew.

River North Brewery: funky fresh since 2012.
