Jack’s Abby & New England Brewing Collaborate On Beer Geek Helles

Jack says, “Hi I’m Jack from Jack’s Abby Brewing and I’m here with some brand new shiny cans- they don’t look like our normal cans cause they’re only half our can. This is our collaboration with New England Brewing Company, Beer Geek Helles. We’re really excited to finally be able to have this beer in cans- the beer is fantastic, it’s the perfect Summer beer. It’s our version of a Helles, but not a standard Helles of course. It’s for all you beer geeks out there. It’s hopped with Nelson and Hallertau Blanc. We’re real excited to have been able to work with New England Brewing on this beer- we both had such limited quantities of these two hops, we decided to bring them all together and be able to create one great brew. At 4.5% it can be a really nice easy drinking Summer brew. The two hops we used are really aromatic, floral, almost have a wine-character, there’s some citrusy notes to them. And then malty sweetness coming from a double decoction- and what that means is that we literally cooked the mash two times. So for each mash that we made for this beer, it took almost 8 hours of process time just for the decoction. If you see this beer out at your favorite liquor store, buy it as soon as you can. This beer is very limited, we only made one batch and we will not be making it again so get it while you can!”
