Short’s Announces Anniversary Ale

Last weekend, we celebrated being more awesomer at The Short’s Anni Party XII and beginning today we’re letting you in on the party! One of our most specialer of beers, Anniversary Ale is being released to beer lovers throughout the state of Michigan.

Anniversary Ale (9.3% ABV – 63 IBU) is a high-gravity Wheat Wine made with blood oranges. Flavors range from the spiciness of green peppercorns to the tang of blood orange zest. Aggressive dry hopping of Simcoe hops amplifies the citrus overtones and spiciness found throughout the beer. Anniversary Ale typifies Short’s Brewing Company by embodying all of the complexities that come along with another year of brewing.

So why is Anniversary Ale such a specialer Short’s brew? While it’s true, we make all our fearlessly creative brews with top notch ingredients, the most tastiest of Northern Michigan water, and love, this beer commemorates something so much more fantasticer than just a day in the brew house. Anniversary Ale is brewed annually to commemorate the opening of our Bellaire pub and all that it entailed. From purchasing and renovating the old hardware store to brewing the first batch of beer and opening our doors, this beer embodies the blood, sweat, and tears that Joe Short and others have put into making the Short’s dream a reality.

For the past 8 years, our Anniversary Ale has been a blood orange wheat wine. The version we’re releasing this year is the same version we’ve released since 2009, but this year you’ll find it on store shelves in 22oz bombers. We promise, it tastes as gooder as ever.

So be more awesomer and take a little bit of Short’s Anni Party XII home from your next trip to the store. Whether you share this beauty with friends or keep her for yourself, we know she won’t disappoint.
