From Beau’s and Remarkable Liquids:

Beau’s All Natural Brewing in Eastern Ontario, will make their award-winning, certified organic beers available in the US for the first time this March. The launch this spring will focus on New York, and Beau’s has chosen Remarkable Liquids to be their national importer and exclusive New York State Distributor.

Beau’s All Natural Brewing is a family-run craft brewery, co-founded in 2006 by father and son Tim and Steve Beauchesne. Beau’s has received numerous awards for brewing excellence over the past 7 years, including 2 Golds at the international beer competition Mondial de la Biere, and 5 Gold medals at the Canadian Brewing Awards. A regional favorite, Beau’s has been voted “Best Craft Brewery in Ontario” every year straight since 2007 at the industry’s Golden Tap Awards in Toronto.

Remarkable Liquids will begin distribution with Lug Tread Lagered Ale, Beau’s award-winning flagship beer, along with The Tom Green Beer, a sessionable milk stout designed in partnership with the Canadian actor and comedian of the same name. Both beers are certified organic, and will be available in the US in Beau’s signature single-serve bottles, as well as on draft in kegs.

“We’re super-excited to finally get to meet the neighbours,” says Beau’s co-founder Steve Beauchesne. “We’ve had our hearts set on keeping the beer we brew within a day’s drive of the brewery, because it’s important to us to have real relationships with the people who serve it, sell it, and drink it. Selling into New York State gets our beer out to more people to enjoy, but still lets us be a local brewery.”

Beauchesne points out that, border crossings aside, selling into New York State was actually the easiest next step for Beau’s in growing as a regional brewery. “We are planning to keep our beer within a one day’s drive of the brewery, but I’m guessing we might have to make two localized exceptions,” he says. “Tom Green is getting pretty thirsty for his beer out in LA, and Dad [co-founder Tim Beauchesne] now spends his winters in Florida, and those guys have a bit of pull around here,” he laughs.

Entrepreneurial principles of fierce independence and a complete D.I.Y. mind-set have driven Beau’s since Day 1. In the 7 years since inception, they have released more than 65 different beers and become one of Canada’s most respected craft brewers; created (in house, of course) some of the most attractive craft beer packaging in the world; and grown annual sales up over 30,000 barrels — all while selling solely to the Ontario market and self-distributing. The team at Beau’s now includes 80+ employees, yet the group is still largely family and friends.

With like-minded craft brewers New Belgium & Bison Brewing, Beau’s is one of only 3 breweries in the world to be a Certified B Corp.: a for-profit entity that has achieved very high levels of social and environmental performance, and has chosen to consider benefit to community and environment in business decision-making. And oh yeah! Beau’s entire line of craft beers is certified organic too.

“How is it possible that beer of this quality, truly world class in every way, in packaging second to none, with a company backdrop that is sincere and inspiring, is being made 50 miles from the NY border — and how are craft drinkers here unaware? How are they not screaming for this beer? I guess that is the power of a thick black line on a map,” said Spencer Noakes, founding member of Remarkable Liquids. “We could not possibly be more excited to unveil what we consider one of the greatest hidden gems in the Craft Beer Universe.”

Adds Beau’s All Natural’s Steve Beauchesne: “We chose Remarkable Liquids for 2 very important reasons: because they are dedicated to and understand craft beer and what makes beer wonderful, and because they are good people who we can enjoy a pint with at the *ahem* ‘end’ of the day.”
